Описание

Modem industrial processes rely on feedback to control different manufacturing parameters. To have an effective control on them information measurement systems (IMS) are used as a source of data. Basically, a measurement system consists of one or more sensors which convert a true value of the measured quantity into an uncompensated sensor output signal. This signal has to be processed before it is presented and used to control a manufacturing process. A variety of modules will do many diferent converions and calculations during the signal processing. Thus, the comunication between all modules also has a significant impact on the correct functioning of the entire system. This manual is intended to help students at the English Language Faculty of Engineering at the Technical University of Sofia in solving problems in Measurement Systems. This first part of the manual is focused on the communication in an IMS. It consists of 4 assignments as well as 2 Appendices. Each assignment includes short theoretical explanation, questions to students, execution tasks (to be done in person or/and remotely) and short tasks execution instructions. The tasks to be executeted in a laboratory are based on the Micamaster MIC960 education board and competable controller. The tasks designed to be executed remotely are LabVIEW based virtual instruments and include control of real laboratory equipment. Contents, volume and level are based on the relevant course programme. The authors will highly appreciate all further advice and recommendations.
