The problem solver contains problems solutions and selected examples related to the class material presented in the „Control theory I – part I“ course. It also contains methodical directions for approaching some of the basic theoretical issues in control engineering. The goal here is to develop student’s abilities to work through the main theoretical topics and to guide them in deriving solutions to specific control system problems. The material in one semester course in „Control theory“ usually includes transfer functions and state space models, time and frequency responses, stability of feedback systems, Routh – Hurwitz, Nyquist and Bode stability criteria. The course material presentation assumes that students have the necessary mathematical background in differential equations, complex analysis and calculus. The solutions manual is
written to help students in understanding the presented in class material and to develop their analytical skills for reaching control theory problems solutions.
The problem solver is written for the students enrolled in the „Control theory I“ course from the undergraduate program in „Industrial engineering“ at the English Language Faculty of Engineering, Technical University of Sofia. It provides the necessary basic knowledge in control systems, which is further extended in the subsequent courses in „Process control“ and „Industrial automation“.
